I ought not be surprised by Maria’s genius, I’ve seen enough of it evolve. It’s hard for me to believe that Maria gave up her art for some years, I just cannot imagine her in any other life. She has turned her attention this week to vintage handkerchiefs, and she is turning them into the most beautiful and graceful things. She has begun to sell them and offer them on her website. It is really the joy of my life to see what comes out of that whirring mind. Many of her ideas begin in dreams – long, elaborate dreams that go on forever. But they inspire a lot of lovely art.
