Maria And Frieda, My Own “Thelma & Louise” On Crystal Hill

I could watch Frieda and Maria all day, I call them my own “Thelma & Louise,” two man-haters and wanderers  taking care of each other, loving one another completely and without reservation. I am lucky to love them both, today on Crystal Hill Maria and Frieda went crystal hunting together, each digging up some stones, pushing away some leaves. They both got lucky, they are always on the same path, they are not two things but one thing bound together through life. Frieda seemed to get the idea, they understand one another without the need for language.

Come Walk With Us On Crystal Hill, A Mystical Place

Walk On Crystal Hill
Walk On Crystal Hill

We went for a walk on Crystal Hill this afternoon, me, Maria, Frieda, Lenore and Red, it seems a mystical place to all of us, the dogs love to tear through the woods, roll in mud, put their noses to the ground to get all of the stories of this world. I’ve said that my wife is a fairy, an elf, a pagan, a good witch and I was convinced of it this afternoon, I saw her stop with Frieda and the two of them started pawing the ground together, and she came up beaming with a beautiful crystal, the loveliest yet which she immediately fastened into a necklace for me – I am wearing it now. She just seemed to know where to look and I took some photos of this magical journey and will post them on Facebook, one or two here also. Come along and walk with us on Crystal Hill.

Neither Rain Nor Sleet Nor Donkeys…

Neither Rain Nor Sleet…

Red has won over the donkeys, they pay no attention to him, nor do they deter Red from focusing on his sheep. Donkeys are guard animals, that’ s why I got them, but they have completely accepted Red as a working member of the farm community, and I doubt that he even notices them anymore, especially when he is focused on the sheep.

October Light

October Light
October Light

There is no light like October light. For me, it is the photographer’s light, the softest, most indirect light, the light the camera loves, that catches the whispers of light, that is not hot like the summer light. October light stirs my heart, shines my soul up, opens me up, there is not much of it left, I will find it and love it.
