First Monochrome Photo, Dusk

This is the very first photo I took with the new Monochrome, I was standing right where I opened the box and pointed the camera at the office study, it was about 5 p.m. and I just got the batteries charged. I was very surprised and delighted when I saw the detail in this photo. This is the scene of many of my Windowsill Gallery photos and I have not seen the kind of detail this camera picked up. I notice the shot picked up the screen, the glass bottle off to the right, and the tree outside of the window.

There is emotion in the photograph, it captures the feel of the room at dusk without color. I have only taken a few photos with the camera, I have a lot to learn and a lot to try. This shot was taken with a 100 mm macro lens. Very cool. I took it out into the woods with the dogs and took some pictures, I’ll share some this evening.

For me, black and white photographs are about mood and emotion, shading and detail. I’m excited at the possibilities, daunted by how much I have to learn.
