Meeting A Tree Frog

We Met A Tree Frog

We met a little tree frog on the forest path this morning, Maria picked him up and chatted with him, Fate came over to sniff him, Red was not interested. After a visit that lasted a few minutes, she put him back on the ground and he vanished under a leaf, we left him in peace.

Tree frogs spend most of their lives up in trees, they live in what is called an arboreal state.

They have wonderful camouflage and it is unusual to see them on the ground. They have suction cups on their feet and can climb far up into the trees, they have to be careful of snakes and owls and hawks.

He seemed at ease in Maria’s hand, but was happy to disappear under the leaves at the base of his tree.
