Rose and Rumsfeld the Ram

September 4, 2007 – Chilly, clear. Very dry, so we are taking the sheep out to pasture twice a day. Rumsfeld the Ram who has had many losing battles with Rose, tried to hang back away from the flock. Rose spotted him and gave chase. The outcome was predictable, with Rummy heading for the flock in full gallop with Rose in hot pursuit.
Also a shot of Rose escorting the sheep back to the main pasture after they had eaten. Herding on crisp nights like this is a special pleasure.

Tuesday, September 4, 2007 – From the Farm Journal of James Findley, September 4, 1894 – Fine day. Worked 10 hrs in fields. Bought eggs and milk. Rode with James. Becky M. Died. Henry. P. died. Sarah M, chld died. Two calves died. Tommorrow, Greenwich.
