To Saratoga, and a new step

Two of the photos I will be showing and selling in Saratoga. “Cows Farewell,” from the last days of the John Clark Dairy Barn, and “Pansy, after the storm.” No dog pictures. Picked these up today from the Image Loft in Manchester, Vt. and they did a wonderful job printing and matting. I will sell some, but not all of the photos. This is a new experience for me.
I’m excited about it.
Maria helped me mark, title, price sign and label the photos – she’s been to a lot of art shows. I see they have to be handled carefully. A spot or drop of water, and they are ruined.
They are all limited editions. Very different from writing. Can’t wait to see how it goes.
I’m bringing books and a camera. There are a few I’m just not ready to sell, and they are labled “NFS.”
The art fair runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
July 10, 2009 – Sunny, dry. The farmers are scrambling to cut the hay. Maria and I are off to Saratoga Saturday for Art In The Park, in Congress Park, from 10 am. to 6 p.m. A long day. She is bringing eight quilts, and I am bringing eleven photographs.
Photography has become an integral part of my life, and has sparked a notion of myself as an artist. It is another way to tell a story, as is writing. I love working in both forms. Writers don’t generally sit in parks for hours hawking their books. A growth experience.

Lenore, the Hound of Love
Rose, the Working Dog
Izzy, the Soul Dog.
If you are lucky, and open to it, you get the dogs you need. And love.
