Needle cushion, Studio Barn
Well, I’m without my camera for 24 hours or so. I have plenty of photos to put up, but my
self-cleaning) camera finally succumbed to dust, dirt, rain and bugs and is getting cleaned by Al at Cameraworks in Latham. Al always smiles when I tell him the camera is self-cleaing. “I clean a lot of those,” he always says. I do have a second camera, but I have loaned it out. It feels a bit like my right arm is gone, and I keep seeing things I want to photograph, and reach for it.
I know by now that I don’t see myself clearly, but being without the camera, which I have sometimes taken to bed with me, I realize just how much a part of my life it has become.
From the minute I get dressed, I am carrying it around with me, from room to room, out with the dogs, into the barns. I keep reaching out for it.
Good for me to see that and know that. You can grow into a lot of things if you give them the chance, and make room for life.
Smile. Lenore is lying in stinky stuff. And focus.

Am focusing on my life: a new relationship, writing fiction, writing children’s books, taking photos, working with, training and writing about dogs. And teaching.
Met with the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Center (LARAC) today and I might be teaching a story telling workshop next year. Would be a great place to teach, in Glens Falls, on the southern edge of the Adirondacks.
Will be writing a series of children’s books for Holt on Lenore and her loving ways, one of the first being an account of Lenore’s friendship with Frieda.
It is great fortune to have things to focus on. Got to make head space for what is important, and what matters to me, and what will being me to the next place, where I always want to get.
Rose: Got work?

Note. A number of people are asking if the HBO movie “A Dog Year” will be available and sold as a disc. Can’t say HBO has advised me of their marketing plans, but I am sure it will be in time.
