Don't be fooled by Frieda

Who has mastered a look of innocence and warmth. She tore off into the woods today after a rabbit, and then stalked a chicken upon her return, hours later. She was exhausted and conked out just after dinnertime, awakening only to terrorize the UPS deliveryman. (Just barking). Then she gave me this endearing and sweet look and I gave her a rawhide flip. I love Frieda.

My story: Reflections in an old mirror, 3

If you take this old pocket mirror, and this flower, and put them together, you stand on the porch and wait for the sun to move, and to reflect the blue flowers hanging over the mirror, you will find a story.
My story is this: A woman, lonely for much of her life, unable to express herself out of fear and isolation, and believing herself to be worthless and without gifts, looks in this mirror one morning and decides to make a different story of her life. She begins singing to her cat, who adores her, and who has kept her company during her loneliest times.
She begins singing every morning. She has a beautiful voice, and it is heard by an innkeeper walking in the street below one night. He knocks on her door, and asks her to perform a concert in the town square. Terrified, shy and uncertain, she agrees, and she and her cat rehearse for days and many nights.
She is a great success on the night of her performance. She has, through her singing, found what she loves, and her determination to do what she loves, and to sing her story overcomes her great fear and shyness. People love her voice, and through it, can see the beauty in her.
Her presence and her gifts are discovered by the people in the town, and makes several good friends.
I can’t say whether or not she finds love. Hope so, as she pines for that looking in this old pocket mirror. I think she does. But I know she does what she loves, and emerges from her pain and fear into a place of warmth and light. Her cat lives to be 15 years old, and is pampered to the end.

Tell your story. Reflections in an old mirror

Found an old mirror in Maria’s studio, took it to the porch, put a flower in front of it. This photo tells a story to me. Stories are everywhere, even if we rarely pause to look at them. I will post more about this story later.
