Clipping found in the Farm Journal of Mrs. Frisbie, 1904:
Can a Woman Catch Trout?
Special Correspondent Cambridge, May 14 – In common with all mankind your correspondent has always been of the opinion that only once in awhile could there be found a woman who could catch trout. That fine and delicate job she must leave to the sterner sex. Just why this is the universal opinion I have never been able to discover but have in my own mind supposed that the generality of women could not catch trout is because the tramp would be apt to be too fatiguing for them and the way too complex and perhaps swampy.
