August 20, 2007 – Cloudy, cool. Autumn air. The cows walked through the water lines to the back pasture, and water was gushing everywhere. Talked with Annie and Don about building a tent for the tractor and four-wheeler for the winter. Annie and two kids from town will begin moving firewood this week. Danny Thomas will deliver the rest of the hay this week. I’m putting off re-seeding the big pasture till next Spring. The excavation work on the driveway is done. Don is still finishing the pole barn expansion. We have to make plans about where the goats will be this winter. They like it behind the house, and I like chatting with them whenever we go outside. They like donkey cookies. I have to use the tractor to move some round bales. I have to get the postcards for the Art Harvest. I have to take pictures of Anthony for the art harvest brochures. Emma left this morning after a two-day visit. She took Pearl with her. Miss them both. Got to take Rose to the vet, as she seems to be having some coats problems. Going to the county fair tonight with Izzy, and may go to Bill and Maria’s this afternoon to take some pictures. I went to Anthony’s shop and took some pictures with the lightstand for the first time. I’m excited about using it. Above, new sunflower, out in the victory garden. More to come.
