Shaman and puppy

  October 10, 2007 – Lenore made her media debut Monday in Albany on the monthly Northeast Public Radio show “Dog Talk,” which I co-host with Joe Donahue on WAMC. Joe had to leave work early and Kate Britton filled in. Our guest was my friend the shaman and animal communicator Lesley Nase of Arlington, Vt. (she has a page on this site, under Friends of the Farm). Lesley, shown above behind the mike,  fielded a lot of questions from people grieving over lost dogs, cats and horses and wanted to know how the animals they once knew were doing. Lesley, as always, was fascinating, surprising and insightful. Also, of course, a bit spooky. We had a great day together.
  This was Lenore’s first media appearance, and at 8 and 1/2 weeks, she did well. I put her on the table in front of Lesley and the mike, and she yawned and went to sleep for the entire hour. I think she will work out well on book tours, already stepping comfortably into the role of media dog. Izzy, a veteran media whore, was dozing on the floor behind Lesley. It was Lenore’s first time in a city, but she slept the way there in Lesley’s nap, and was surrounded by the usual coterie of  mostly female admirers. At home, back in the crate for another night of acclimation. Izzy doesn’t like her much, but so far, no serious damage. My dogs have to behave in studios, and she’s off to a great start.
