January 8, 2008 – Good news. Just got off the phone with Dan Teplesky, the charismatic superintendent of the Granville Public Schools, and he has hired me at a weekly salary of nothing to teach a creative writing class at Granville High School beginning at the end of January (once a week) and running through March.
 I’ll be working with about eight high school students and the goal is to produce an original piece of writing. We’ll see how it goes, but we will try and get these works published somewhere, perhaps on my website, perhaps on Granville’s, maybe elsewhere.
  Hopefully, we will show our writing to each other, learn how to give and take positive feedback, and write something we all love and are proud of. It depends on how things turn out, but it might be possible to publish these works under my new imprint, Bedlam Farm Books. That depends on how we do, but would be truly awesome.
   I hope I can bring in coffee for myself, and a camera. I suspect I will be learning as much or more as I am teaching.
  Izzy will take a break from his hospice work and accompany me, sometimes I’ll bring Lenore. I hope to be sharing some of these writings here, as early as February. I have to say I was never a very good student, and hope to do better this time around.
   But I’m excited, and am grateful to Dan for pushing me in this direction, and for being so accommodating. Updates to follow.
