January 14, 2008 – Had a great night at Rainier’s Restaurant, which hosts a country music gaggle every Monday when fiddlers, guitarists, singers and ragpickers from Washington County get together – with covered dish – and form a circle and sing together, even in ice storms. A great night for me, a treat to be there and see the love of music in the faces of these musicians, a few of whom have some mileage on themselves and their instruments. It was a privilege to take these portraits, and try and do justice to these talented people, whose love of country music is all over their faces. I am putting up several pictures here and the rest on the Photo Journal. Can’t wait to back. I have got to get a photographer’s assistant. I now have so much junk it took three people just to haul it in.
