February 15, 2008 – Farm life consists of many small dramas, I think, and Annie claims she has temporarily bested the mischievous goats, Ruth, Murray and Honey, by draping the tree with chicken wire. She said it took an hour to put up the wire, as the goats snatched her hat, bumped her, and climbed into the wire. She thinks she has them beat for the moment – we’ll see – they are already nosing around the wire and burlap. Annie says they will come up with something, and so we gave them cookies while they jeered.
