March 1, 2008 – Spent a couple of hours with Mary Kellogg, the poet and my friend, at her home this afternoon, talking and taking pictures. Izzy dozed on the floor, after a run-in with her cat. Can’t think of a more pleasant or meaningful way to spent time than with Mary, who read her new poem “Diner,” a departure for her, and great one.
   Mary is brave and talented. She didn’t show anyone her poetry for many years, and now is making up for lost time with a vengeance,  cranking out one beautiful verse after another. What a light, so much grace. She even put up with me  moving her all over the place, for a bit. In the Spring, Bedlam Farm Books will publish it’s first book, “My Place On Earth,” a collection of Mary’s poems. How lucky to be able to do that.
