New York City Album. One. Love In The Park

New York Album: Love In The Park

Had a magical couple of days in New York. Maria took her mother to the Opera. We walked all over Central Park and mid-town. I had dinner with my daughter. I met with my children’s book publisher, Henry Holt and we kicked some exciting ideas around. I met with my Random House editors and we talked about my idea for an E-Book, “The Story Of Rose.” I loved the digital team there. I took a lot of photos I liked. I’ll put up some of there here, and some in a Facebook album on my page there. It was a mix of family, the romance of a great city, the good fortune at having two publishers who would meet with me and hear my ideas. Does life get a lot better than that?

My knee help up well, is is getting a bit better

Back through a nasty ice storm and lots of running around tomorrow. I will be showing and selling 10 of my photos – Chicken Art mostly, at the opening reception of Gallery 99, 5 to 8 p.m. February 22.  The show will be at the M. Dolan Jr. building, 3 Broad Street, Glens Falls. The photos are signed and matted, mostly 8 x 10’s and I will be there to talk about them and meet people who want to buy them.  They will be matted and priced between $50 and $60.  A dozen other artists, including Maria – who is showing streaming pieces and potholders –  will be showing their work at the experimental, mobile, gallery, created  after the recession to sell art inexpensively to people who want it. Good stuff cheap, in other words. Some of the best artists in the area are participating. Gallery 99 doesn’t have a website at the moment, but come by if you can. The gallery is a powerful idea, seeking to reinvent the way in which art connects with people. The first show last year was mobbed, a great success. Gallery 99 will run through next weekend.

More photos later. In the morning, I’ll get a photo of the new cover for “Dancing Dogs,” my short story collection, out in September. Shaping up as a neat year. Looks like a three-book year for me, an E-Book original, a children’s book in September, and the short stories. All right.
