Life and Love. Rocky’s Human

Life and Love

Every day it seems that life gives us the opportunity to understand it, and to grow and change with it. I am sorry to learn that Rocky’s companion for 30 years, a loving farm wife, has died. Rocky has for some time been a symbol to me of acceptance, love and loyalty. I always thought the two of them were walking hand in hand to the edge of life. I just went by the farm yesterday to see him.

When I last spoke with her in November, Rocky’s owner told me Rocky was still beautiful to her, and she was grateful he was with her. I was touched by the thought of the two of them, side by side, keeping one another company. Death is sad, but this is a beautiful story, I think, and I will remember it.

Rocky is in good hands, and is being well cared for. The family will decide where he shall go, and there are apparently a number of choices for him. He is well into his 30’s, but generally in good health. I’ll keep up with it on the blog. Rocky is not in need of rescue or sympathy. He is quite admirable to me and I wish all animals the kind of life and care he has received and is receiving.
