Loving Animals: Scott And I Take A Walk

Scott and I are good friends, Scott is insanely busy running his new cafe, the Round House Cafe, when he can, he opens up some time and calls me and either visits my farm or invites me out to Pompanuck Farm. We share a powerful spiritual connection to Pompanuck, also a call to adventure for Scott and Lisa, and a place that does much good for people.

Today, Red and Fate and I went out to Pompanuck, Scott took us out back to walk along the beautiful streams on the property. Scott is passionate dog lover, he lost his dog Deo last year and comes to see Red and Fate whenever he can. Fate is a woods and meadow dog, she tears around Pompanuck, plunging into streams, diving over fallen tree trucks. She loves Scott, as does Red and showers him with kisses.

Scott and I stood by the stream and had a long talk about life, learning to understand ourselves, dealing with the angry and judgmental people in the world and sometimes, even in our families. I toldĀ  Scott my life began to change when I finally knew who I was, and accepted myself. There was some hard truth in facing who I am, but I made peace with it, people can take it or leave it.

We had a beautiful walk through the woods, and I appreciate the warmth and sensitivity of this man, and also his own search to figure out who he is and wants to be. A hero journey all its own. Scott and I both value our friendship we are aware of the habit men have of leaving their friendships behind when life gets complicated. We haven’t done that, and life has often been complicated.

Dogs pick up on our emotions of course, naturally Red and Fate love Scott, and he loves them back.
