Lulu And Fanny In Their Summer Finery

Lulu And Fanny

Donkeys are so much smarter than sheep or chickens, or many dogs. They are intuitive, they miss nothing and feel everything. When I approach the sheep with my camera, they usually flee. So do the chickens.

When I approach the donkeys with my camera, they seem to know what i am doing, and they join in, sniffing me and the camera, ears up, posing and preening. I often bring them carrots and alfalfa treats, and they do not shy away.

I think they like being on the blog, they feel it is their just due for being so wonderful. They have finally shed their winter coats. Donkeys shed later than our other animals, their coats are gone in August and the grow back in October.

Fanny gave me a love-you nudge with her wonderful soft nose.
