Farm Dog, Big Moment For Zinnia

by Jon Katz

A milestone for Zinnia this morning, I brought her out to the pasture and took the leash off. She and the animals have been observing each other for days, time to get closer.

The sheep glowered nervously at her a bit and then went about their business. Zinnia kept her distance, she did a lot of sniffing, did a lot of sitting on command.

She’s a perfect farm dog.

We’ll go slowly. One step at a time, but today was a big one.

The donkeys know her now and mostly ignore her, she is a farm dog now as well as a family pet and a therapy dog. Busy dog, busy life.

The world has a lot in store for Zinnia, and she is eager to wade in the waters of her life. This dog wants to work. She is a Joy Spreader.

  1. LOVE the statement “JOY SPREADER” from her Godmother in San Diego! It’s been a JOY watching her progress every day.
