Mud Dogs. Next, The Car Wash

by Jon Katz

Fate has finally found something she loves to do with Zinnia or at least tolerates – running through the woods and wading in mud.

Maria takes Zinnia along on her walks in the woods with Fate.

For Zinnia, the muddier, the happier. We might have to start taking her to the car wash down the road.

Fate stepped in one of those beehives buried in the ground. The bees came after her and she dove through some ferns to shake them off, looks like she got stung in one ear.

These two dogs come from proud working breeds that I love, they love to run, tear through the wood, sniff everything in sight.

Fate may be coming to accept Zinnia a bit, on the walks at least, she doesn’t snarl at her or push her away. It took a good long hosing to get the crud off these dogs.

  1. The ground nests are ground nesting wasps, their bite is much more painful, am glad looks like only one bite site…Goldens here absolutely love mud, and fortunately don’t mind the rinse off that completes the process..?

  2. On a hot summer day, there’s nothing more refreshing than a good mud wallow! At least, that’s what my dogs have always told me.
