Cud-Chewing, Two Sides Of The Barn

by Jon Katz

This was a trick photograph for me, one half of the photo in near darkness, the other in bright sunlight. I had to play around with the settings, but I got the image I wanted.

In the afternoon, even on a cool Fall-like today, it is peaceful to see the sheep chewing their cuds, one on one side, the others right over the fence.

I like to check on them mid-afternoon. They are waiting to go out at night when the bugs retreat and the pastures cool.

They are very peaceful when they wait.
