Pastoral Morning. Spring Is Conquering The Cold: 70 Degrees This Afternoon. Put The Gloves Away

by Jon Katz

Spring is not taking no for an answer. It’s supposed to be 70 degrees today. I’ve taken my gloves off. I wait until the sun rises, then I come up for my morning photos. I love the routine, especially as it’s warming, and going to the Food Pantry soon to see the trucks come in.

Maria has moved her meditation spot off the porch and out into the outside yard, where she can best hear the birds and also see the sun come up. That’s where Zip and I go to hang out in the afternoon.

Zip lives to lie in hay, just after dinner. We made him a little nest. He loves hay nests. His big nap comes every morning right after eating.
