Maria sent me this photo, she is protesting among the No King protest in a small and very conservative town in upstate New York – Greenwich, the sign suggests every resident and farmer in the town turned out to protest the idea of the country bowing to a King.

This protest is expected to be the biggest in American history. Those awful woke people are awakening in great numbers.

We forget sometimes that so many early Americans liked the King and were happy to follow his commands. That fight was long and bloody. But the others wanted to be free, fought it for eight years, and drove the King away. Nobody said these things would be easy, not in a democracy boiling with different ideas.

We are spoiled in America; but we are used to freedom and won’t give it up, no matter how long it takes or how difficult it is. I know what New York City will do today, but I pay much more attention to this quiet agricultural town In rural upstate New York,. Greenwich is a historically independent town that electsonn independent party lines rather than voting along national party affiliations.

It’s a small town in the Southern Adirondacks of New York with a rich history of civic participation and political engagement, usually on the right side of victory.

It’s about 15 miles from us, and there is a rich sense of community at its demonstrations, almost everyone knows everyone else, and the support of this down for today’s protests – expected to take place in more than 30,000 places, including Mexico, Greenland, and Canada – says a lot. People there say they are angry at the President. The cost of everything is going up, no matter what the government tells them. Nobody seems to support the war, not even the town veterans.

I’d say the turnout speaks quite loudly for the mood of much of the country. I’m going to annoy the grim, but I see absolutely no way that democracy will fall apart with this kind of pressure and support. America was born on the idea of freedom. They will not give it up.

Greenwich does not wish to be ruled by a King.

My blessed person of the day: Texas Democrat James Talarico’s response to an evangelical minister’s plea that he be crucified for criticizing greedy and politicized Christians for using Jesus Chris as an excuse for killing their opponents and seeking money, domination, and power. “I love you more than you could ever hate me,” was Talarico’s response. May he win his campaign. I bet he will. Go, James, you are the future.
