Bedlam Farm is a peaceful place; our morning meditations give it form and purpose. I thought I’d focus on four images of the morning rather than a dozen. Pastoral is an art that keeps us in touch with nature, even though most people have moved to the city.

Above: A by-now iconic sight at the farm, Maria’s daily meditations on peace of mind give meaning to the start of the day. She meditates out in nature, no matter the weather or temperature. We both promise to be working by 10 am.
I got a new hanging flower basket for the porch and hung it this morning. It’s warm enough now.

Bud comes in every morning for meditation hour, which he seems to love. Bud, who is aging visibly, replaced Gus, our Boston Terrier, who died very young. Every morning when I sit in the living room to meditate, Bud finds a spot next to me.

As the sun moves across the sky, Bud moves with it. We call him Sun Dog.
I am loving the additional pictures of Bud. I remember Gus fondly and recall how heart-breaking it was to lose him so young. He was an adorable little guy and you and Maria did everything you could to save him.
We’re very luck to have found Zip, he is the happiest creature I’ve ever seen happy. We loved Gus very much, but we love Bud too. He is quite a character…Small dogs don’t know they are small..Thanks for the note, Sharon..
