Message From California, Army of Good: “Kudos. I’ve shown these blog photos all over the Pantries in Southern California. They are in awe of the work you are doing and the wonderful look of the Pantry interior. I haven’t seen that here. Much applause for the volunteers.” Serena, California.

Today was delivery day from Eastern New York. They sent boxes of donated food, and the Pantry staff will go over each one to make sure it’s healthy and not inferior in any way. Pantry work is difficult. It involves trucks and very strong people.
The food has to be quickly examined, recorded, labeled, and placed in the produce section or in the big refrigerators.
The non-produce has to be examined, sorted, labeled, and stored (or sometimes, rushes right out to the store part, I call it “the shelves.” Then the customers have to be greeted, signed in, and guided. Above is the unpacking squad, waiting for the truck to be unloaded.
It’s a lot of work for a good cause.
These are among the most recorded dinners for the Pantry families; they are quick to cook, easy to clean up after, and very popular. Support everywhere is declining. We are not.
