When they hear the gate open, they come running for some fresh hay.

I had my first prayer meditation today. I don’t know who or what I’m praying to, but I loved the idea of praying rather than just letting my head wander. I prayed to get my country back and sane again and decent again. I prayed for me to stay strong and healthy for the good work I plan to do. I prayed for Maria to stay strong and for “B” to grow in confidence. I prayed for the good people at the Cambridge Food Pantry that I have come to love, and the people who come to them in need and in growing numbers. I prayed for the farm and the animals who love it there and for Zip and the dogs. I prayed for James Talarico in his campaign for the U.S. Senate in Texas. He has touched my heart with his faith and decency. I prayed that my flowers continue to give frightened and frustrated people hope and comfort. I think that was enough the first time. And yes, I prayed for the immigrants who are treated more cruelly than I imagine possible in our country.

Jon, that was a great list of prayer topics. I especially like that you included “B”. Thanks for sharing.
