SusanM: Awesome photos, as always. As to the pic in the post above… nothing like a Willa Cather woman who shovels manure in a skirt…I love it! Maria has always been a very *creative* and artistic dresser…..I adore that about her. And… must say the photo from yesterday? Or this morning? of your face… it is looking SO much better and almost normal (in my eyes), other than perhaps your right eye… but so good otherwise! Very happy you are on the mend!

Thanks, Susan, you captured one of the hundred things I love about Maria. Whatever she is doing, and wherever she is doing it, she is always Maria. Herself. And so very real. She has no concept or interest in dressing up or caring what anyone else is doing. She is always Maria, and I love her more each day for that and many other things. Yes, I know I’m a lucky man. I hope she is a lucky woman. I do my best.

Meditation Prayers. For my country, for Donald Trump, I can only imagine the unrest and anger in the vengeful and broken man as he nears the end of his life, and I approach the end of mine. I pray for a more peaceful end for all. I pray for Maria and the life she will live with love and meaning when I am no longer in it. I pray for more years to do more good.

I pray for the donkeys who will live past me, and I pray that they stay together to the end of their lives. I prayed for the wonderful people at the Cambridge Food Pantry; they are full of good, love of community, caring, and the best demonstration of humanity and love of neighbors. I pray that the Food Pantry survives this cruel government and continues its work to help those in need. I pray I have the strength to help. I pray for James Talarico, a candidate for the Senate in Texas, as the vicious campaign against him begins. They call him Talafreako, and I just bought one of his new “Talafreako” shirts. I hope it fits. He is a good person of faith. And he has a wicked sense of humor.
