Thanks for filling Chili Mac in on the shelf; the Pantry was out, and it’s now full. Today’s orphan and empty-shelf food is one of the most popular dinners among Pantry customers: Spaghetti and Meatballs.As far as anyone remembers, they have never been completely out of this item before; the number of people coming to the Pantry for help is up by one-third.

Many working and older people are desperate. Social services offices are overwhelmed, often unreachable. There is little or no transportation for people with little food and no cars. Paychecks are not going far.

Federal emergency agency food has been cut by $1 billion  In one area of the Midwest alone, Ruby’s Pantry Network suddenly closed, cutting off food access for 300,000 families.

The Cambridge Pantry is doing a heroic job of serving its families  No cut hours, very few empty shelves  You are helping this happen, thank you.

Joy is hard to find these days. I see it at the Pantry every time I go. Americans are not agreeable to turning uncaring and cold. They won’t do it.
