This morning was an exceptionally beautiful meditation; early morning is a sacred Pastoral thing here. Maria and I sat silently out in the chairs for nearly an hour, and when I looked up, I saw a chipmunk staring at me, and then meditating with me. I fear for his life in Zip-land. It got darker around noon, feels like rain. The heat wave came down. I have no idea whether the war is over, so I’m praying it is.
They are not fighting for me.
I hate the idea of young Americans dying for rich older men, speaking as a poor older man. Let the billionaires and weapons makers go and fight if they wish; we can live without them. There are plenty left.
