The heat drove me into Quarantine for the fourth time yesterday, but I went out a few times anyway to take photos and deal with a car issue. I have a new car as a result. I also got sick, which was inevitable in that kind of heat. I’m back at it after a good night’s sleep and planning my flower photos inside the house, a creative challenge.

I’m with George Eastman. Light is everything, and I’ll go out quickly for some more shots this afternoon. The light is hypnotic and beautiful.

Over this holiday, please don’t feel hopeless. The right thing is becoming increasingly obvious to more and more people all at once. I have faith in the American dream. Happy birthday to all of us in the great Democratic experiment. May it live forever. And change too.

Zip does not like the heat and goes inside the barn when it gets this hot. He came out this morning to catch some outdoor time and vanished soon after. He has a dozen cool places waiting for him.

Our sheep graze at night (we open up the gates) and sit still in the heat. They have seen it before.

98 degrees or not, the donkeys get brushed every morning. Donkeys are desert and mountain animals. They are the least bothered by hot weather.

And the manure gets scraped out of the barn every morning.

This kind of heat light is beautiful in its own way.
