Note: No Blog today; I’m sitting down for a Day of Contemplation in silence. Maria is joining me for some part of it. It’s overdue for me; I need to figure out exactly where my head is in these intense, dizzying times and amid the momentous changes in my life.
I would encourage members of the Army of Good to consider the Cambridge Food Pantry’s plea for help getting the most popular food of all, Velveeta Shells and Cheese. They are all out. Hunger doesn’t take days off.

It’s a love affair, I suppose, one I never expected with a cat. We are beyond buddies; I swear he sometimes lives inside my head.
It’s summer, and every afternoon I go out to take my flower photos, and he appears out of nowhere to join me. We have a good time; there’s purring, ear and back scratching, and a kind of communion that is new to me. It makes me very happy.
He arrived as a fierce hunter of mice and cats, and he is still that, but also a loving creature who touches me, heart in a new and different way.
P.S. I am grateful for the concern that pops up when I don’t blog for a day. It doesn’t mean I’m dead, injured, or in the hospital. It just means I’m busy.
I learned as a journalist that bad news travels faster than anything. There is none.

you NEED a day of silence and contemplation, perhaps more than one day. Take all the time you need…… I will be here when you surface again and I wish you a peaceful time

You are fortunate to have a beautiful relationship with this cat. They do have a way of burrowing into your mind and soul.
