Grace Stephenie Caleri Cabinilla and her daughter Guilianna Mia Carrier Calero were recovering from a car accident at the HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital last week after recovering from a car accident.

A recorded video shows the mother being seized and arrested, shows her in handcuffs, and shows the daughter sobbing in a hospital gown. ICE officials said Stephenie Calera Cabinilla had overstayed her family visa, although an asylum application was pending.

Following the hospital detention, the mother and daughter both chose to self-deport back to Ecuador.
