A moment: Please, if you can, take a minute or two to honor and remember the many thousands of people who died in the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City 25 years ago to this day. People are still dying from the risks they took to help the injured and terrified get out of the building. I remember how united we were as a nation, and I believe we are beginning to connect once again.

We are about so much more than money.
Thank you again and again for your wonderful donations and for doing good; you can also find them through the Cambridge Pantry Wish List. Sarah calls these foods “heat and eat” items; they are extremely popular at this time of year.
These are rough days for the Food Pantry, but we are keeping the best foods coming. That includes ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, and clam chowder. Everyone wants them, and the Pantry can’t afford to buy any.
The Food Bank can no longer provide them with many items, and the shelves are frequently empty.
These are tough weeks for all Food Pantries, but our work with them has since become one of the most meaningful and hopeful experiences for the Army of Good and me. We are holding our own, thanks mostly to good people. The Army of Good has been nothing less than heroic.
There are no simple days now and no easy ones.
So far, we have provided every item we have been asked to stock. This is a small but wonderful miracle, an assertion of good hearts and empathy. This is the true heart of Americans.
You bring hope and compassion to this Pantry, this community, and people across the country. There are not enough words to show gratitude for what the Army of Good is doing. The Pantry volunteers are amazing. The two groups are working beautifully together.
Sarah is doing a wonderful job keeping the Pantry serving its customers as best she can.
Check out the Amazon Pantry Wish List if you can. They need everything on it.

Maria and I will be at this Pantry Fundraiser from 11 am to 3 pm Saturday at the Brieman Building, 77 South Park Street, Cambridge, New York 12816. One of my books is being auctioned off; I’ll be happy to sign books if anyone wants to bring one. We’ll be at the Fundraiser table. Looks like fun; it’s a great cause.
