Hail The Toilet: Lulu And Fanny, And Zip Have Been Banned From The White House

by Jon Katz

(Note: If you have a chance, please check out the Cambridge Food Pantry’s request below for help getting a much-loved food- canned corn- on sale today for only  $.01. Thanks much. )

Two Stories Today.

Two big stories today: First, Dan Rogers, a friend and skilled handyman, came over and replaced two aging and failing pieces in the toilet.

I have no idea what they are, what they did, or what he did, but this older man is greatful to have his favorite toilet working again, perfectly. The toilet is my friend. Victory.

Also, on a more disturbing note, the farm was just informed that Lulu and Fanny and Zip have been banned from the White House; they will not be admitted or allowed to eat anything on the lawn.

We had a meeting, and I, the sheep, and the donkeys cheered in relief. The banning inspired me to do something I should have done long ago and actually did last week.

Ignore what comes out of the White House!

Let’s ban ourselves We don’t choose to be lied to or insulted or support cruelty and hate.

What do we ever learn except how to be nervous.

The donkeys were thrilled; they removed all the grass on the White House lawn to make room for expensive white granite (or something).

They’ll eat grass, and I’ll take pictures.

I told them I have been inspired to stop watching any press announcements out of the White House. I have been keeping score, and I have never heard any true, necessary, informative information coming out of there apart from lies, insults, and raging, angry teenagers.

Nothing there for me, and certainly nothing for Lulu and Fany or the very outspoken cat Zip. As a former journalist, I can’t imagine reporters standing in the White House Press Room or on the White House lawn to be ignored, misinformed, lied to, or insulted.

I can’t remember a single announcement that made any sense. Life is too short. This, I said, is no loss.

People can get more information from a telephone pole.

That is no way to treat a human or a donkey.

  1. One of my ‘diversions’ from the ‘stuff’ coming out of the WH is to appreciate what’s growing in my raised bed. Right now the blue aster is fully in bloom. The bees are loving it, and I love watching them get nurture from this plant! Also I’ve seen three Monarch butterflies in my backyard which is thrilling! I read your blog daily; keep those lovely pics of the farm coming.
