When I ask for Cambridge Pantry support, I usually post photographs of their heroic volunteers, whom I greatly admire. But it’s Saturday, and Sunday is my Contemplation Day, and I am focusing on my farm, where Maria, the animals, and my heart are.
The above photo of Zip and Fate is perfect for Saturday or Sunday. The two animals began their association as enemies. They have chosen love over hate and are good friends—a perfect lesson for us all. Stop hating.

This morning I got my 5. am instructions from Sarah Harrington, the Pantry Director. (Boy, does she have a rough job). I hope we can help over the weekend. I’m not typically religious, but I think of the weekend, Sunday and Saturday, as sacred days: giving days, times of worship, reflection, times of giving and thinking of others.
Feeding the frightened and abandoned is a good place to be. We can help others for 99 cents.
So here goes for the weekend: Saturday the 19th and Sunday, the 20th of September, a few days before Fall. Sarah asked me to focus on Canned Corn, and here’s the good news: It is only 99 Cents. This is a very popular food, healthy, easy to store, cook, and clean up after.

Great news and thanks. Sarah reports that the Army of Good Stacked three more urgently needed items, including cereal, ravioli, spaghetti, etc. Sarah is finding amazing bargain prices. Like the Pantry, we are adapting to the new and very difficult reality.
We are on a roll, stacking more than 15 items in recent weeks that the Food Bank and the Pantry could not afford. We are focusing on one or two at a time. Thank you; you are pouring out generosity like a geyser. Today it’s Canned Corn.
