I accepted right away that my life had changed a couple of years ago. I have a cat who is loved far more than I am, but I accept it with humility and wonder. Zip has the magic; he has a regal air about him and, from the first, has become popular. If I don’t post a photo of Zip, I get all kinds of messages from people wondering where he is and whether anything is wrong.
I call it Zip addiction. I’m not the first person to be overwhelmed by his dog or cat, but I wasn’t prepared for falling in love with this creature from the first. He seemed to own this place from the moment he arrived. He loves the poles, standing on them and looking out over his kingdom.
God help the mouse or chipmunk he spots from afar. He sees them all, and they see him and run.
From the first day when he ran off the pigeons dumping out in the barn attic, he was in charge. He has from the first love posing for a camera. From the first day, we wondered what to do, but why can you do anything but take at least one picture a day?
I’m not dumb; I started taking his pictures right away, knowing that he has a bigger audience. While I was looking away, Maria snapped this photo of King Zip. Long Live The King.
I’m not a ‘cat person’, but he sure is handsome…and keeps himself so clean. :)
I so appreciate that you post a photo of him every day! He reminds me of my tuxedo cat, Mustafa, who was in charge of keeping the shenanigans of three other cats in control. He was also Mayor of our block in Washington DC, where every one knew his name and greeted him as they walked by even if they didn’t know us! 😂
