Maria and I try to take a break from work on beautiful afternoons. We are both workaholics, so this is a chance to spend time together on our farm on a beautiful day. Zip joined us, and so did the donkeys and sometimes the sheep. It’s also a relief from the turmoil in the world around us and a chance for me to rest briefly in the afternoon, something I need to do now that I am getting older. It’s only a few minutes, but they’re beautiful.
One of the sheep slipped out of the gate as we were opening it, something we haven’t seen in years. She was going for the apples that had fallen just outside of the gate.
Sheep can easily be controlled (I miss Red) by moving the rest of the flock away from them. The escaper panics and runs after them. They never want to be alone, and we got Robin back in just a few minutes.
