27 September

Flower Art, Sunday, September 27, 2026. Tonight, Flowers, No Politics Here. Whew.

by Jon Katz

We missed the worst of the Nor’easter today a lot of rain and wind but no damage. It apparently came close. Winter hay is coming in a few days, 30 bales of first cut, 6 of second cut. This week, we turn on Zip’s Heated Cat House (also the thing the animal riots people dare not acknowledge). It’s a wonderful thing to have the wood stacked and the barn full of hay. We are ready for witer.

Thinking of all the flooded homes.

Maria and I talked over the weekend about fusing our two blocks into one. I like the idea. We’d save a lot of money, split the space equally, think of a new heading give one blog twice the punch. The farm is really a joint idea and we’ll try to figure out if it’s possible to do well. We’ll do a lot of thinking about it. We both love our blogs very much and also celebrate our individuality.

One thing I love about it is for Bedlam Farm to end up as one great blog, even if I’m gone. I’ve been planning ahead, as you know. When it comes time, I want a beautiful passage. Bedlam Farm is just beginning.

We’ll test it, it’s pretty cozy back in the barn, but last winter, we only saw go in once, and that was not on one of the coldest days. He seems to love hunting at night, the rats and mice all show up in the dark. We haven’t seen any in a while. The Zip magnets are coming in a week. Maria is trying to figure out the price.

Too much rain and wind for me to go outside today, I decided to continue my Contemplation afternoon and pick out some of favorites, most of which have not been seen before.
