We generally try to save the bones of our dead sheep; they are beautiful in their own way and a way to remember sheep like Biddy, who died on the farm and were taken into the woods to feed animals that need them.
Maria did startle me by putting Biddy’s skull on; it fit perfectly, which says something. Life on our farm. I don’t mourn animals, but I do like to remember them. I remember herding Biddy with one of the border collies, probably Rose.
