My assistant comes by every day to sit with me while I take my pictures. He’s the perfect companion; he never talks or complains, yet he’s full of love and loyalty.

After his daily neck-scratching, Zip goes off into the marsh or the pasture. I never know where he goes, but he is always back in the evening and then in the morning. Barn Cats are mystic; no one knows where they often go.

It was a full and tiring day, also a beautiful and meaningful one. I did some planting before sunrise. We posted the weekend Pantry requests and are waiting to hear back; we went to the Saratoga Battlefield to walk and drive around and soak up some beauty and meaning. I got some beautiful gladioli and took some pictures I really like. Come and take a look. I’m happy and tired. I stayed far from the news.
