I had this impulse to go find an abandoned barn in a howling snowstorm and shoot it from the inside. I found one in Ft. Edward, N.Y. and I thought this old sofa caught the feeling of the day and the place. Running around in snowstorms with cameras is an odd hobby, I suppose, but it is mine.
Lenore and Frieda have become good pals. They love to hang out together in the yard or in the woods. Like sisters. People are generous in praising my training of Frieda, but I have to say Lenore had more to do with it than I did. She stays close to Frieda, watches out for her, keeps things light. More than anything, Lenore showed Frieda how to relax and have fun, as she did for Rose.
