“Going Home” tour: In Support of Vermont

Almost all of the towns I’m scheduled to visit as part of the “Going Home” Book Tour next month have been damaged or destroyed by the recent flooding. I’m talking to Random House about re-casting the “Going Home” tour – this part of it – as a support for the ravaged small bookstores and towns of Southern Vermont, a “Going Home In Support Of Vermont” book tour. This might include visits to Burlington, Manchester, Chester, Brattleboro, Bellows Falls and nearby Cambridge, N.Y. and Bennington. I can take a couple of weeks to do this, if necessary.

If the bookstores are damaged, I can speakĀ  and talk about my book at churches or private homes. I’m thinking we should charge a small fee $5 or $10 and turn the money over to flood relief.

Vermont has a number of wonderful, small bookstores as well as wonderful small towns, a way of life that ought to be preserved and restored. I’m sure it will be. I’d love to help. More later.
