Route 30 Farm

by Jon Katz
Route 30 Farm

Writers, artists, photographers are often, I think, called back to the same thing, something that touches them, stirs their souls, excites and arouses them. I always want to stop and take a photo of this farm, often with a different lens, at a different time, from a different perspective. I love the way this farm is line up – on a straight plane, the field in front of it, the road behind it, the hills behind the road. I like this shot around dawn, a soft light, a balanced image. A timeless image, too, more like a painting to me that a photo. I don’t know what this image touches me, but I will always come back to it.
