Red At Lulu’s Crossing. Decisions.

Red At Lulu’s Crossing

Red and I brought the sheep to Lulu’s Crossing to join the donkeys there and I told Red to stay and hold his position, and then I forgot about him and went up to the top of the new pasture to find the donkey’s and take some photos of them. When I walked back down the hill 15 minutes later, I found Red in position, backlit by the rising sun. I wish the sun had been in his eyes, but I can’t say I was unhappy with the photo. Whenever I see Red working, I think of the choices I have in life, what I wish to think about, how I spend my time, my determination each day of my life to do something creative, starting with a photograph in the morning.

I could think about the things I’ve lost, or I can think about the things I’ve gained. I can think about the things I failed to do, or the things I hope to do. I can think about the slights and resentments of life, the people who have hurt me, or I can think about the many good people coming into my life, who I am learning to love and who are learning to love me. Those are my choices, and then, there is Red who reminds me to stay focused and get it done.
