Minnie At Rest

At Rest

Time seems to normalize everything, when Minnie is in the house, she loves to lie on the dog beds, her missing leg seems to make it’s absence clear when she lies like that, she is accepting her life, as animals do, and many people also. I sense her time in the house is getting short, she is eager to be outside, making all kinds of nests and hiding places for herself, reluctant to come in sometimes.

In a sense, it will be harder for us, I think, thank for her when she resumes her full life as a barn cat, we will be worried about her. But three-legged barn cats are a proud species up here, they do well, and our house and barn and yard have lots of good spaces for a cat. My wish for Minnie is for her to return to her life, even if it makes me uncomfortable. For me, that is love.
