There is a sacred space between the animals who live and work with people and the people. We need animals in our lives and many of them need us, it is a blessing and a sacrament to share our lives with them. Our donkeys are the most intuitive animals I have known, we come to them with open hearts and filled with emotion, and they feel our emotions and connect with us. When we are still and low to the ground, they come and press against us and they talk to us. Here, Lulu is talking to Maria of Spring, I think, not in words but in feelings, she is sharing the warmth and freedom and satisfaction of grazing. She is free to love again.
