Good Morning Simon

Good Morning Simon

I don’t know how you  begin your day, but my day begins faithfully by kissing Simon on the nose, just before we shovel out all of the manure. It is a beautiful way to start any day, really, and Simon loves to be kissed on  his big soft nose. This is Simon’s time, my next book, “Saving Simon” is coming out just ahead of the second Bedlam Farm Open House on Columbus Day Weekend, and many of Simon’s faithful admirers are making the pilgrimage to bring him carrots and celebrate his great passion for life.

Battenkill Books will give a signed Simon postcard to every one of the first 2,000 people who pre-order the book from them, and I will sign and personalize it. You can order it online from Battenkill (pub date is October 7) or call the store at 518 677-2515, they take Paypal and ship anywhere in the world. This wonderful independent bookstore is thriving, and deservedly so, and will have an ever better year with your support.

Simon and I are planning a joint signing at the farm together if the logistics work out. I did not, for most of my life, ever imagine that I would begin my day by kissing a donkey. It is a beautiful way to begin a day, it sets the right tone and focuses me on what it important and meaningful about the world. Many years ago, I watched the news in the morning, now I kiss Simon on the nose. This is better.
