Every night, the donkeys go into the back pasture and root around the brush for berries, apples and weeds. Simon is the only one who comes back with his head covered in burrs. He is a sweet creature, and every morning he submits to having his head brush and the burrs picked off and pulled. Most donkeys could not do this.
