The Last Apples

The Last Apples

The last apples are finally coming off of the apple trees, and Maria shared a few with the donkeys and Chloe. These days are crisp, windy, cloudy and chilly if not cold. The leaves have begun to turn here, they are already beautiful in Vermont. Fall has always been a season of beginnings for me, new starts.

Also a melancholy time, I think because I hated for the summer to end and to have to go back to school. This is a good summer place for animals, it seems we had enough grass for two donkeys, a pony and seven sheep. I ordered some gravel for the Pole Barn, the animals will be lying on it quite a bit this winter. Chloe is the perfect Bedlam pony, she loves people, is easy with the other animals, she and Maria seem to love one another quite a bit.

She has been good for Maria, good for the farm. She takes walks with me sometimes.
